The redesign for the ‘Bergischer Hof’ in Gummersbach gives this long-established, traditional venue a new, strong identity: familiar, distinctive and clearly recognisable.
At the heart of the new visual identity is the striking new ‘B’ logo, which is directly derived from the architecture of the building complex. What makes it special is that its distinctive shape serves as a flexible graphic framework. It functions as a frame for photographs, as a neutral background for text, or as a standalone symbol with extremely high recognition value. As a consistent design principle, the design system works seamlessly in classic print media such as leaflets and posters, as well as in the physical space – from façade design right through to the on-site wayfinding system. The result is a down-to-earth, highly functional brand identity that interprets the shopping centre’s tradition in a contemporary way.
