Mariendom Hildesheim
Brand identity for the cathedral and the cathedral museum

Mariendom Hildesheim

How does the historical dimension of a UNESCO World Heritage Site translate into a contemporary design language? The new visual identity for Hildesheim Cathedral is based on a seamless fusion of nature, architecture and history.

A striking, modular logo has emerged from the organic form of the famous thousand-year-old rose, the geometry of historic window rosettes and the ornamentation of the cathedral treasury. This visual leitmotif runs like a common thread through all media: from corporate stationery to posters – where the logo acts as a striking window onto the historic architecture – right through to a comprehensive signage system inside and outside the cathedral and its museum.
