Active accessibility in educational spaces—a highly efficient, ergonomic guidance system featuring tactile elements that works in perfect symbiosis with the interior architecture to ensure unhindered orientation for all visitors.
Inside the multifunctional educational center "Stadtfenster Duisburg," which unites both the municipal library and the adult education center (Volkshochschule) under one roof, nowakteufelknyrim conceived, planned, and implemented the comprehensive guidance and orientation system. Developed in close cooperation with the studio UKW Krefeld, which was responsible for the interior design, a tailored information architecture was created. A primary focus was placed on extensive accessibility: the targeted use of tactile signs, tactile paving/guidance strips on the floor, and ergonomically optimized overview panels enables unhindered orientation for all visitors. The information design excels through maximum readability and ergonomic placement of elements, blending harmoniously into the modern interior design.
