A playful wayfinding system with clear pictograms makes the diverse services and facilities of the community center intuitively accessible to everyone.
The Lübeck district centre consists of various municipal facilities such as the citizens‘ office, police station, church, school, nursery and sports hall. The exposed concrete provides for clear forms, the colour scheme for vibrancy, and the diverse uses are accessed from the central square. The signage system is as reduced and open as the architecture: Clear, bold signs are integrated into the surfaces of the buildings – light and playful, in harmony with the architecture. To ensure that the various target groups have access to the wide range of services on offer, most of the basic information in the signage system is provided exclusively in the form of pictograms. These are easy to understand and read for all age groups and levels of education – with and without knowledge of German.
