100 pallet stacks, 100 award-winning posters: Materials from the printing house are transformed into a communicative exhibition landscape that adapts to each location anew.
The annual ‘100 Best Posters – Germany, Austria, Switzerland’ competition showcases the region’s finest design work in a travelling exhibition and an annual publication. Alongside the renowned annual publication, it is the travelling exhibition in particular that captures the public’s attention. The scenographic concept by nowakteufelknyrim takes visitors back to the medium’s origins: the print shop. Here, the sheets are stacked on pallets, both before and after printing. This raw, authentic aesthetic becomes the exhibition’s architecture. One hundred pallets full of waste paper serve as plinths upon which the one hundred award-winning posters are displayed. The result is a landscape that is as fascinating as it is communicative, functioning as a modular system that can be re-staged at every exhibition venue.
