Arp Museum
Special Exhibition “Dream Anatomy” – Hans Arp, Sophie Taeuber-Arp

Arp Museum

The exhibition brings together around 100 works by Hans Arp and explores the evolution of his distinctive visual language, shaped by nature, growth, and metamorphosis.

The poet, painter and sculptor Hans Arp is regarded as the pioneer of an organically abstract language of form that is inspired by metamorphosis, the constant processes of growth and change in nature. Fascinated by the natural processes of growth and decay, Arp developed his distinctive repertoire of forms. The exhibition invites visitors to discover the various aspects of his unique artistic oeuvre. With around 100 works on paper, reliefs and sculptures, this first comprehensive presentation of the collection in the new building of the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck focuses on various thematic groups. The depiction of the human figure forms an important focal point. Numerous sculptures invite visitors to experience the metamorphosis of form in Arp’s work.
