Interactive, playful, and presented in four languages, the exhibition explores Luxembourg’s lived multilingualism through flexible container modules as it travels across Europe.
Multilingualism is a way of life in Luxembourg, with the majority of the population speaking Luxembourgish, German, French, and English. This linguistic diversity is omnipresent in schools, workplaces, and daily life. Luxembourgish plays a particularly vital role and is actively promoted by the government as a language of communication, integration, and literature.
Naturally, a traveling exhibition dedicated to this topic had to reflect this quadrilingualism in both content and design. All exhibition materials and the accompanying web app are fully accessible in all four languages. Participatory elements and playful, smartphone-controlled interactions ensure an engaging and memorable experience, especially for a younger audience.
Since June 2023, the exhibition has been touring Luxembourg and Europe. Its design features a clever logistical concept where the transport containers themselves serve as the exhibition architecture. Four containers and a table module are simply rolled into the venue, opened, and plugged in. This high flexibility allows the modules to adapt effortlessly to any room size or layout.
